Invisible Children has landed in EUROPE!!! We've embarked on a UK and Ireland spring tour, hosted 5 rescue events and met a lot of amazing people who have become a part in bringing this movement to their home countries. This expansion will only get bigger and better but we still need your help!! Join the movement as we head into our Autumn Tour 2009!

Team IC get muddy at Rockness!

For those of you that don’t know, we have been working with the lovely boys that make up scottish band Biffy Clyro. They have been a great support to us since the start of the IC Europe movement and have taken us on tour with them, allowing us to spread this story to their fans from all over the UK and Europe. We were lucky enough to join them at scottish music festival, Rockness last weekend. And what a weekend it was……

Molly and I left London loaded with merch and hopes of spotting Nessie (Rockness is located on the shores of Loch Ness and is probably the most amazing festival venue I have ever seen!). After a longggggg journey we arrived in Inverness and got our tent pitched to try and grab some zzzzs before taking on the crowd…our blissful/cold sleep was woken by the torrential rain. Welcome to the Scottish Highlands!!

We were given a pitch in the main arena which was in a very “interesting” location as well as being on what can only be described as a steep slope. Nonetheless we got our stall set up and started talking with the crowd who had travelled from all over the UK. Biffy had given us a bunch of signed goodies for a raffle we ran at the festival and we got to meet with lots of great and interesting characters….It was great to meet kids who were from schools that the roadies had visited in Spring. One of the best moments was when a very excited guy ran at full speed to the stall screaming “INVISIBLE CHILDREN…..oh my god I can’t beleive you’re here!!!”, our immeditate response was WOW people KNOW us!!! It was exciting to see how the movement here is connecting and coming together…..even in the very North of Scotland! We spent the weekend non stop talking and explaining IC to people and got some great contacts. Despite several challenges including rain, water “resistant” tents, emergency merch saving efforts, rain, mud, more rain, festival toilets…..oh and a bit of rain chucked in for good measure, the weekend was a GREAT success and huge thanks to team Biffy for making it happen.

The boys also promoted us to the max by wearing our merch on all their press interviews for the weekend, invluding an interview that was conducted for Scottish Television (STV). Check out the video above to seem them in their glory. And to quote Ben from Biffy on his thoughts about the tshirt we gave him “This is the coolest swag I own!”. Well thanks Biffy, the love is mutual!

We finished exhasted, with ringing ears but so grateful to have had the chance to spread the word of IC in such an awesome way.

A special mention should be made for fearless Molly Gardner who jumped into Loch Ness in a bid to meet Nessie…..Hats of to you Molls, you are definitely a brave lady!
